In 2012, Freeport - McMoRan produced 1.66 million tonnes of copper, 38.6 metric tons of molybdenum and 29.8 metric tons of gold.
Freeport portfolio of oil and gas included oil production in California, increasing production on land Eagle Ford in Texas, significant production potential of oil in the Gulf of Mexico, as well as large land resources in Louisiana. Project Čukaru Peki is the early stage research project in Bor district in the East Serbia and the majority is owned by Freeport - McMoRan Copper & Gold Inc. Initial drilling on the project Čukaru Peki yielded encouraging results with high copper and gold contents. Freeport - McMoRan will continue to investigate to determine whether the project Čukaru Peki has the potential for mining; process that will last for many years with various stages of development.
The project is owned by Rakita Exploration Ltd. Bor, where ownership is 55 % Freeport - McMoRan and 45 % Reservoir Minerals. Freeport - McMoRan is the leader of this project and has the right to acquire up to 75 % ownership after the feasibility study.
Geological exploration on the project Čukaru Peki is at a very early stage. In 2012, approximately 10.000 meters were drilled with encouraging initial results. Current and upcoming exploration drilling of several thousand meters is planned for 2013 with the aim of assessing the potential size of the ore body and determining the average content of copper and gold.
Although encouraging initial results provide motivation for continued research on the Čukaru Peki, still there is a need for the significant number of positive drilling results and a number of other steps before making the decision about the exploitation.

As an industry leader, we demonstrate proven expertise in both technology and production methods, which consist of open-pit mining, SX/EW production technology, block cave underground mining, and copper concentrate leaching.
